This is the first of a “capstone” series of two courses: PIMA 723 and 724. In this fall course the foundation is established for the major collaborative M.F.A. thesis production which will be publicly presented off campus in the spring (under the course number PIMA 724).
Course Outline
This course addresses, supervises, and evaluates all pre-production work towards the collaborative M.F.A. thesis project to be presented in the Spring semester (PIMA 724), including collaborative group formation & methodology, script and/or score development, research, design, technical development, documentation planning, and venue research. Community outreach, webpresence, grantwriting, and publicity are also addressed.

Course Outline
In this course the collaborative M.F.A. thesis project will be publicized, produced, and presented. Course projects include production planning and scheduling, rehearsals, design realization, technical realization, documentation, publicity, venue relationship development, community outreach, and personnel management.
Students will prepare a production book, project history, and research paper in addition to the production of the performance itself. By the end of the semester web and video/audio documentation will be completed.
